What is different about a ranked match
- You do not choose who you play. That is the whole of it — a ladder measured in rooms you assembled yourself measures who you invited, not how well you do the noises.
- There is no host. Nobody can start it early, hurry a phase or remove anybody, because all three are ways for one player to act on everybody else’s result.
- The wheel is off. It is the best thing in a casual room and it is luck, and a ladder that pays out on luck means less the more of it you have.
- Five rounds, and the length is not a setting. There is nobody to set it, and a vote on the length would be a vote on how much rating is at stake.
